A rose by any other name ….

The following link connects to a moving article about some European Jewish groups preparing to launch a Jewish flotilla to break what they describe as the “immoral” Israeli blockade over Gaza:

Excerpt:
“On board the ships will be activists from across Europe including Germany and the UK, as well as an 85-year-old Holocaust survivor from Israel. The voyage was originally meant to carry only a small number of activists together with journalists from Europe and Israel, but organizers say that a huge response from the Jewish community has meant that a second boat has been arranged, and the possibility of a third is being discussed.”

Centuries ago, William Shakespeare wrote: “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”  Since then people have been using the phrase “A rose by any other name …” to mean that names of things do not matter; only essence.

In reaction to this honourable Jewish attempt to send a Jewish Flotilla to break the Israeli blockade over Gaza, we say: “A human being by any other name …” and to the Israeli government, we say: “An apartheid system by any other name …”

Will all of us (Palestinians and Israelis) learn?  Will equal humanity prevail in Palestine/Israel?  We continue to hope…!!!
